This inground shelter is 6'x 8'. The ceiling
height is 6' 2" . This shelter is constructed of 6000 psi concrete. For
reinforcement, 3/8" rebar is tied on 12" centers running both
directions. This shelter has a 12" turbine for ventilation. On the inside
of the shelter we have installed a metal deflection plate to keep flying objects
from entering the shelter through the turbine. We have a fixed staircase that
bolts to the shelter for security. It has dual handrails and the steps have non
skid protection for added traction. It has a primed 11 Ga. steel door with a gas
operated support cylinder that makes it easy to open and close. It has three
heavy duty hinges and three deadbolts for security. This unit is installed
4' 6" below grade ( in the ground ) with approximately 2' remaining above
the ground. The dirt from the excavation hole is mounded around three sides of
the above grade portion of the shelter surrounding it with earth for your
saftey.

This above ground shelter makes it possible to walk
in and desend one step down for easy entry. This shelter measures inside 7'
6" long x 5' 6" wide and is 6' 2" tall. This shelter is
constructed of 6000 psi concrete. For reinforcement, 3/8" rebar is
tied on 12' centers running both directions. It has a primed 11 ga. steel door
that measures 32" wide x 60" tall and has three heavy duty hinges and
three deadbolts for security. This shelter has two 4" vents with rain
caps for ventilation. This shelter is considered safe if dirt is placed around
it on three sides surrounding it with earth for your safety. If available
you can place this shelter in an embankment or hillside. This shelter is ABOVE
GROUND ONLY.
